Erasmus+

Another Erasmus+ mobility project for students and staff in vocational education and training (VET) was successfully completed on August 31, 2024. year. The project enabled the development of practical skills in companies for 22 students. 20 students participated in short-term mobility in companies in Slovenia and Portugal, while two students completed their three-month internship in Spain, while 3 teachers participated in job shadowing. In addition to the mobility behind the students and teachers who participated in the project in any way, there are enormous hours of work and preparation.

The internship is great; I’ve been to introduced to entire production process. I worked on both mechanical and electrical parts of the system. There was work on pneumatic and hydraulic components, but I also connected switches and control components. I connected a temperature regulator, replaced the pressure accumulator of the hydraulic system, replaced three old contactors in the cabinet, and changed the probes in the zinc furnace. During the second week, we spent most of the time working with aluminum press and molding. Absolutely everything that could have break on the machine broke at some point— from the heat sensors to the hydraulic pump, everything failed and needed our attention.

During my internship, I developed an application that uses an API for sending SMS messages and has functionalities for logging in, registering and managing user profiles, and SMS messages can be sent immediately or the time of sending the message can be scheduled. I learned a lot and expanded my previous knowledge. I worked in a motivated working environment of an excellent company with colleagues ready to help. Outside of working hours, we explored the surroundings, tried local food and visited interesting destinations such as Lisbon, Fatima and Porto. I was especially delighted by the organized tour of the city of Braga, which exceeded my expectations. Through this internship, I gained valuable knowledge and skills that I will use in the future, but in addition I met new people, explored new cultures and cities, and created unforgettable memories that I will remember for the rest of my life.

My impression of the internship is excellent, the company fits our profession perfectly and the project assigned to us corresponds to the level of our previous knowledge that we have acquired in classes. Our task is to create an application that uses an API to send and store sent SMS messages. Colleagues in the company are polite and willing to help at any time. The working environment is very pleasant. We spend our free time together exploring Braga, and over the weekend we visited the cities of Lisbon, Fatima and Porto. In my opinion, the trip to Lisbon was fine, but we didn’t have enough time to explore such a big city. The sanctuary in Fatima was enchanting and I am satisfied with Fatima. The trip to Porto was the best of all, because we spent the whole day there, and with sightseeing with a guide, we had enough free time. The local culture and people are extremely pleasant and relaxed. An excellent experience
